MINNEAPOLIS—During the halftime show of the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup final between the Indiana Fever and the Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday night, the renowned performer known as Red Panda experienced a mishap. She fell from her unicycle, resulting in an early conclusion to her performance.
At the time, there were no detailed reports regarding the severity of her injuries. After tumbling forward from her unicycle onto the court, Red Panda appeared to be in discomfort, clutching her left wrist. She was subsequently assisted off the floor in a wheelchair.
Red Panda, whose real name is Rong Niu, is a Chinese American performer hailing from a lineage of acrobats. Her remarkable act involves dexterously riding an 8-foot-tall custom-made unicycle while skillfully balancing specially designed bowls on her lower leg before flipping them onto her head.
She has showcased her talent at numerous basketball games, including a performance during Game 5 of the NBA Finals in Oklahoma City earlier last month.
