Second Tropical Storm Develops Near Mexican Coast

    MIAMI — Meteorologists have reported a new development in the weather systems affecting Mexico, with a second tropical storm named Flossie emerging off the country’s western shoreline.

    Just after the National Hurricane Center announced the formation of Tropical Storm Barry on Saturday morning along Mexico’s Atlantic coast, they revealed the advent of Tropical Storm Flossie on the Pacific side.

    As of the latest updates, the center of Flossie was positioned approximately 240 miles (390 kilometers) south of Acapulco and roughly 485 miles (780 kilometers) southeast of Manzanillo. The storm was packing maximum sustained winds of around 40 mph (65 kph) and was advancing westward at a rate of 9 mph (15 kph).
