Deion Sanders reassured the public on Wednesday through his social media that “everything is OKAY” despite his absence from recent football camps in Boulder, Colorado. Concerns over Sanders’ health arose due to his prolonged absence. He expressed gratitude for the support he received, writing, “I am truly blessed for the abundance of well wishes, all the thoughts, and all the prayers. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!”
In his message, Sanders also mentioned his eagerness to return to Colorado to reunite with his team and staff. He promised to provide updates upon his return to Boulder, concluding his post with a confident, “Until then, I’M COMING BABY, #CoachPrime.”
The university has remained silent on the coach’s absence, not providing any comments or reasons. However, ESPN, relying on an unnamed source, reported that Sanders has been unwell and away from the office. Additionally, Sanders’ son, Deion Sanders Jr., shared on YouTube that his father was recuperating at home in Texas and feeling well, as per USA Today.
Sanders, 57, has faced health challenges related to his left foot, particularly after undergoing the amputation of two toes in 2021 due to blood clot issues while at Jackson State. He also missed his first media day at Colorado in 2023 following medical procedures to address a blood clot in his right leg and straighten toes on his left foot.
According to his contract extension signed in March, Sanders must conduct at least three on-campus football camps. The Buffaloes, under Sanders’ leadership, are preparing for their third season, which kicks off on August 29 against Georgia Tech at Folsom Field.
