PRAGUE — Brian Priske is set to make a return to Sparta Prague, having secured a multi-year contract with the club following his time at Feyenoord, according to announcements by the Czech team.
Priske originally joined Sparta Prague three years ago, and in his debut season, he remarkably led the then-struggling squad to secure its first championship in nine years. In the following season, he successfully retained the title and won the Czech Cup, completing a noteworthy double achievement.
During his tenure with Sparta, the team advanced to the round of 16 in the Europa League, but their journey came to an end with an elimination by Liverpool in the 2023-24 season.
In the previous summer, Sparta released Priske before his contract expired, allowing him to manage Feyenoord after Arne Slot transitioned to managing Liverpool.
While at Feyenoord, Priske led the team in 33 matches across various competitions. His achievements included winning the Dutch Super Cup and progressing past the league phase of the Champions League. However, his tenure was cut short in February due to inconsistent performances in the domestic league.
Priske is stepping in to replace former assistant Lars Friis, who was dismissed following Sparta’s fourth-place league finish.
“I’m back with at least the same hunger as before — maybe even more,” Priske expressed enthusiastically.
