SAN FRANCISCO – In a thrilling conclusion, Matt Chapman delivered a dramatic two-run homer in the ninth inning, leading the San Francisco Giants to a 3-2 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Saturday. This win marked the Giants’ fourth consecutive triumph.

The excitement unfolded as Heliot Ramos singled with one out against Braves’ reliever Pierce Johnson, who then faced Wilmer Flores. Following Flores’ pop-out, Chapman stepped up and crushed a home run to left field, his 12th of the season, sealing the comeback.

Despite a commanding performance from Atlanta’s Bryce Elder, who pitched eight innings, allowing just one run while striking out 12, the Braves found themselves extending their losing streak to six games.

Logan Webb, the starter for the Giants, delivered six innings of work, conceding two runs and six hits with 10 strikeouts. This was his fourth outing this season with double-digit strikeout totals. Tyler Rogers (3-2) took the mound in the ninth to secure the win.

Flores initially put the Giants on the board with a solo home run in the fourth inning, establishing a 1-0 lead. Atlanta’s Michael Harris responded in the fifth, tying the game with a solo shot immediately following the ejection of Braves’ manager Brian Snitker, who was disputing calls on balls and strikes.

The Braves nudged ahead 2-1 in the sixth inning when Marcell Ozuna avoided a double play, allowing Ronald Acuña Jr. to score with the bases loaded and only one out.

In a pivotal moment, Chapman capitalized on an 88 mph curveball from Johnson, connecting on a 1-1 pitch over the heart of the plate. This decisive hit granted San Francisco their second consecutive walk-off victory against Atlanta.

Marking their fifth straight one-run encounter, the Giants maintained their winning streak, securing four consecutive triumphs.

In the series finale, San Francisco’s RHP Landen Roupp (3-4, 3.18 ERA) is set to face off against Atlanta’s RHP Spencer Strider (0-4, 5.68).
