LOS ANGELES — Tyler Glasnow remains upbeat about his recovery process from a shoulder injury, an ailment that has kept him off the mound since late April. He is one of the five pitchers from the Los Angeles Dodgers whose names currently fill the injured list.

Though a definitive return date has not been set, the 31-year-old was moved to the 60-day injured list after he sustained the injury on April 27 during a game against Pittsburgh. “My shoulder is totally fine,” Glasnow reassured fans on Tuesday. He minimized concerns about the general body soreness previously mentioned by manager Dave Roberts, attributing his rest period to back tightness after a bullpen session and stating that it was a precautionary decision. “We’re aligned,” Glasnow said of his understanding with the team’s decisions.

With his shoulder feeling better, Glasnow plans to engage in a bullpen session later this week. He was seen playing catch in the outfield on Tuesday, a promising sign. “I’ll be back as soon as I can in a healthy way to help the team in the playoffs is my goal,” Glasnow remarked. This determination is especially crucial as he missed the postseason last year due to right elbow tendinitis. Ahead of the 2024 season, Glasnow secured a lucrative $135.5 million deal over five years.

In other team updates, the Dodgers have signed José Ureña, a right-hander who was recently released by Toronto. While with the Blue Jays, Ureña posted a 0-0 record with a 3.65 ERA across six outings. Earlier this year, Ureña began his season with the New York Mets, where he allowed five runs in three innings during his sole appearance. At 33, Ureña has a substantial track record, having spent 11 years in the major leagues, playing for teams such as Miami, Detroit, Milwaukee, Colorado, the Chicago White Sox, Texas, the Mets, and the Blue Jays. His career record stands at 44-77 with a 4.78 ERA over 239 games.

Additionally, the Dodgers have made some changes to their roster. Right-handed pitcher Will Klein has been optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City, and catcher Chuckie Robinson has been designated for assignment.
