MONTREAL – In an impressive display, Ilay Feingold netted two of New England Revolution’s trio of second-half goals, steering the team to a commanding 3-0 victory over CF Montreal, who were reduced to ten men in Saturday night’s match.

New England, with a record of 6-4-5, extended its unbeaten streak to nine matches, going 5-0-4 since April 12. This victory also marked their seventh consecutive favorable result on the road, matching the franchise record set in 2019.

On the other side, CF Montreal is struggling, holding a 1-11-5 record and unable to secure a victory in their last four MLS matches. Furthermore, Montreal has not tasted victory at home after seven attempts this season.

During the first half, Montreal dominated the gameplay, outshooting New England 8-2. However, the momentum shifted dramatically when Montreal’s forward, Giacomo Vrioni, was shown the red card in the 36th minute due to “violent conduct” against New England’s defender Keegan Hughes.

New England capitalized on their advantage as midfielder Peyton Miller opened the scoring in the 48th minute with his first career MLS goal, leaving Montreal’s goalkeeper Jonathan Sirois stranded. The lead was soon doubled in the 55th minute when Feingold delivered a left-footed strike from inside the box. Feingold continued his scoring spree by adding another goal in the 87th minute, marking his third goal in two matches.

In defense, New England’s goalkeeper Aljaz Ivacic recorded his seventh clean sheet of the season, further asserting the team’s defensive prowess. New England has conceded only 14 goals across 15 games, holding the best defensive record in the league.
