Stabbing near CA school: 1 dead, 2 injured

    SANTA ANA, Calif. — A tragic incident unfolded on Wednesday outside a Southern California high school when a stabbing left one student dead and two others injured. The three victims, all male students from Santa Ana High School, were rushed to the hospital. Sadly, one succumbed to his injuries, while the other two are in stable condition, confirmed Officer Natalie Garcia, the spokesperson for the city police.

    The violent episode took place in the afternoon just as students were finishing their school day, according to Fermin Leal, the district spokesperson. It involved both students and individuals who were not enrolled at the school.

    Law enforcement is actively pursuing at least two individuals suspected of being involved in the incident. At this time, authorities have not clarified if the suspects have any ties to the school or what their motives might have been, as stated by Officer Garcia.

    Details regarding the ages of the victims have yet to be disclosed by officials. In response to the incident, after-school activities and sports events were canceled. The school has announced that crisis counselors will be available on Thursday to support any students and staff in need.

    Santa Ana, a community with a population of approximately 300,000 residents, is situated about 30 miles southeast of Los Angeles. Santa Ana High School has an enrollment of around 3,000 students.
