COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Crew showcased an impressive offensive display to secure a 4-2 victory over Charlotte FC on Saturday, further solidifying their lead in the Eastern Conference.
Dylan Chambost was instrumental in this win, netting the opening goal and sparking a balanced attacking performance from the team.
The Crew’s lead came courtesy of Chambost, who scored with a left-footed shot from the center of the box 25 minutes into the match.
This goal was made possible after Charlotte’s goalkeeper, Kristijan Kahlina, failed to adequately clear a shot by Diego Rossi, inadvertently setting up the opportunity for Chambost to capitalize from close range.

As the first half progressed, Columbus expanded their advantage when Diego Rossi found the net through a penalty kick at the 39th minute, awarded after a foul by Liel Abada.
This put the Crew ahead by two goals.
However, just before the halftime interval, Charlotte managed to reduce the deficit.
Wilfried Zaha successfully converted a penalty kick in the second minute of stoppage time to make it 2-1, providing a glimmer of hope for his team as they entered the break.

The second half saw Columbus regaining their two-goal cushion.
Aziel Jackson delivered with a confident right-footed strike from the center of the box at the 51st minute, pushing the scoreline to 3-1.
Not willing to relent, Charlotte’s Liel Abada recovered from his earlier mistake, shrinking the gap to 3-2 with a well-placed goal from the right side of the box at the 64th minute.
Despite the pressure, Columbus remained composed and secured their victory.
In the 81st minute, Jacen Russell-Rowe sealed the game for the Crew with a precise header, bringing the final tally to 4-2 and concluding the day’s scoring.
