FORT WORTH, Texas — Carson Hocevar clinched his first-ever NASCAR Cup pole position during Saturday’s qualifying session at Texas Motor Speedway, clocking in at an impressive 191.659 mph. This notable achievement makes 22-year-old Hocevar the youngest pole sitter at the iconic track, which is gearing up to welcome its 45th Cup race.

Hocevar, representing Spire Motorsports, will share the front row with none other than the current Cup points leader, William Byron, who also drives a Chevrolet. Byron, a standout talent from Hendrick Motorsports, posted a close qualifying lap with a speed of 191.564 mph. This slightly edged out Austin Cindric of Team Penske, who just claimed victory driving a Ford at Talladega the previous week, registering a lap at 191.523 mph.

Furthermore, Kyle Larson, a teammate of Byron at Hendrick Motorsports, secured the fourth position in the qualifying rounds. Meanwhile, Michael McDowell, another driver under the Spire Motorsports banner alongside Hocevar, is set to start the race in fifth position.

Last year’s victor at Texas, Chase Elliott, is looking to make up ground in Sunday’s race as he will be starting from the 29th position. With an exciting line-up and the tension building, the upcoming race promises to deliver high-octane action.
