CANNES, France — Halle Berry and Jeremy Strong are set to be part of the esteemed jury panel that will select the winner of the Palme d’Or at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.
The Indian director Payal Kapadia is also among those chosen to assess films in one of the industry’s most prestigious competitions.

The festival organizers recently disclosed the eight individuals who will join presiding jury president Juliette Binoche at the 78th annual Cannes Film Festival scheduled for next month.
Alongside Berry, Strong, and Kapadia, other jury members include prominent Italian actor Alba Rohrwacher, acclaimed Korean filmmaker Hong Sangsoo, Congolese director Dieudo Hamadi, influential Mexican filmmaker Carlos Reygadas, and esteemed French-Moroccan author Leïla Slimani.

Numerous jury members have previous ties to the festival, bringing a wealth of experience.
Kapadia gained significant attention last year as the first Indian director to be a part of the festival’s significant competition lineup in three decades with her film “All We Imagine As Light.”
Moreover, Jeremy Strong was involved in last year’s festival through “The Apprentice,” though he was unable to attend due to commitments on Broadway.

The Cannes Film Festival is set to run from May 13 to May 24.
This year’s lineup of films competing for the coveted Palme d’Or includes Wes Anderson’s “The Phoenician Scheme,” “Eddington” by Ari Aster, “Sentimental Value” from Joachim Trier, “The Mastermind” directed by Kelly Reichardt, Richard Linklater’s “Nouvelle Vague,” and Lynne Ramsay’s “Die, My Love.”
These films represent a diverse collection of storytelling that will undergo scrupulous evaluation by the jury.
