RENTON, Wash. — The Seattle Seahawks have bolstered their quarterback roster by picking Jalen Milroe in the third round of this year’s NFL draft.
Milroe, standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 217 pounds, previously showcased his talents during two seasons at Alabama. During this time, he notched up an impressive 39 touchdowns alongside 17 interceptions. While he managed a completion rate of 64% of his passes in college, some analysts question how his throwing skills might adapt to the NFL stage.
Despite these concerns, there are no doubts about Milroe’s athletic prowess. In 2024, he demonstrated his dual-threat capabilities, achieving 726 rushing yards and scoring 20 rushing touchdowns. Milroe’s track record is also one of consistent success, evidenced by a 21-6 win-loss tally at Alabama, where he never suffered back-to-back defeats.
Milroe’s addition introduces a fresh dynamic to the Seahawks’ quarterback lineup, which injects notable excitement and competition. Earlier in the offseason, Seattle acquired Sam Darnold on a three-year deal worth $100.5 million, reinforcing their commitment to experienced players. They also retained Drew Lock, adding depth to the position. While Darnold is the likely starter for the reigning NFC West champions, Milroe’s presence could make the upcoming training camp a fascinating period to watch.
