Last season, Ohio State showcased its remarkable depth and talent, leading them to clinch the national title in college football, capturing the attention of NFL scouts and executives.

Seven Buckeyes players were scooped up within the first two rounds of the NFL draft, matching their own record from 2016. This impressive feat surpassed all other schools, including Texas, which saw five players chosen across the same rounds.

The draft journey began for the Buckeyes when wide receiver Emeka Egbuka was chosen as the 19th overall pick by Tampa Bay. Egbuka had an outstanding 2024 season, registering 81 receptions, accumulating 1,011 receiving yards, and scoring 10 touchdowns.

Next, Donovan Jackson, a versatile offensive lineman, was selected by Minnesota with the 24th pick. Shortly after, Detroit opted for defensive tackle Tyleik Williams. To cap off the exciting first night, Kansas City chose offensive lineman Josh Simmons.

The second round on Friday night also saw a flurry of Buckeye activity. Cleveland selected running back Quinshon Judkins with the 36th overall pick, a selection acquired from Jacksonville in an exchange for their No. 2 overall pick.

TreVeyon Henderson, another integral piece of Ohio State’s formidable running back partnership, went to New England with the 38th pick. Together, Henderson and Judkins amassed 2,076 rushing yards and totaled 24 touchdowns during the 2024 season.

Defensive edge rusher JT Tuimoloau wrapped up Ohio State’s second-round selections when Indianapolis drafted him at No. 45.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame, which fell to Ohio State 34-23 in the College Football Playoff championship game, had its first player drafted with cornerback Benjamin Morrison picked by the Buccaneers at No. 53. Morrison missed part of the previous season due to a hip injury.
