COLLEGE PARK, Md. โ On Monday night, the University of Maryland confirmed that Allie Kubek, a key player on their womenโs basketball team, has entered the transfer portal.
The 6-foot-2 forward has been an asset to the Terrapins, averaging 9.1 points per game in the recent season and playing a pivotal role in the teamโs journey to the Sweet 16.
Having initially transferred from Towson, Kubek spent two successful seasons contributing to Marylandโs basketball program.
Despite Kubekโs decision to enter the transfer portal, the Terrapins have proactively bolstered their roster for the upcoming season.
Among the new additions are Yarden Garzon, a talented guard from Indiana; Gracie Merkle, a promising center from Penn State; and Oluchi Okananwa, an impressive guard from Duke.
These new recruits are expected to strengthen Marylandโs lineup and help maintain their competitive edge in womenโs college basketball.
