MILWAUKEE — Jeffrey Springs, a left-handed pitcher for the Athletics, was forced to exit his start on Sunday against the Milwaukee Brewers due to discomfort in his right hamstring.
Springs experienced this issue following an awkward play on Sal Frelick’s single in the third inning, which headed to the right side of the infield. After Athletics personnel evaluated Springs on the mound, he departed the game.
At 32 years old, Springs had given up six runs, four of which were earned, in his short tenure on the mound. Additionally, he recorded three strikeouts and issued four walks over 2 1/3 innings. When Springs left the game, the Athletics were trailing 6-0.
