Manchester United is set to embark on a groundbreaking tour of Asia following their final match in the Premier League. This post-season tour marks the club’s first of its kind, with a primary aim of generating substantial additional revenue. The tour will commence right after Manchester United’s home game against Aston Villa scheduled for May 25, with subsequent matches in Kuala Lumpur on May 28 and Hong Kong on May 30.

While the team could potentially feature in the Europa League final on May 21, this tour assures a broader engagement with the club’s global fanbase, particularly in Asia. Officials from Manchester United have emphasized the importance of such a tour as a means of deepening connections with fans across Asia and further engaging with commercial partners in the region.

CEO Omar Berrada commented on the significance of the tour fixtures, highlighting their role in generating additional revenue that strengthens the club and supports continued investment in on-field success. The announcement, however, takes place against a backdrop of growing concerns about the workload on players in soccer’s increasingly jam-packed schedule.

Manchester United has already confirmed preseason fixtures in Scandinavia and the United States separately. Recently, the club has also implemented several cost-saving strategies, including reducing staff numbers and increasing ticket prices, in a bid to address ongoing financial challenges.
