MADRID — Spain’s top football division has lodged an appeal against a decision by the nation’s sports authority that permitted Barcelona to keep playmaker Dani Olmo and forward Pau Víctor in their squad.
The sports authority initially sided with Barcelona last week after both the league and the Spanish football federation had rejected the club’s application to register these players. This rejection was due to the club missing the year-end deadline set for adhering to financial regulations.
Despite this setback, Barcelona managed to incorporate the players into their team following the sports authority’s interim ruling. However, the league has now taken action by filing an appeal against this decision.
As of now, there is no indication of when the appeal, submitted on Monday, will be reviewed or resolved.
