A horrifying incident unfolded in a Brooklyn residence on Sunday morning when a man allegedly attacked four young female relatives with a meat cleaver, according to police reports. The girls, aged 16, 13, 11, and 8, sustained severe injuries but are expected to recover, as stated by New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch.
The brutal attack was brought to light after the 11-year-old victim contacted police at around 10:15 a.m., reporting that she and her sisters were attacked by their uncle. Upon arriving at the scene, officers heard distressing screams and encountered the suspect near the entry of the home. The man, wielding a blood-smeared meat cleaver, ignored multiple commands to drop the weapon, leading to a tense situation.
Observing blood on the home’s floor and walls, officers felt compelled to take action when the suspect advanced toward them, resulting in police shooting the man. The 49-year-old suspect was subsequently taken to the hospital, as confirmed by a police spokesperson.
