A tragic car crash claimed the lives of five individuals in coastal Georgia early Sunday morning, as reported by state police. The devastating incident occurred around 6 a.m. when two vehicles traveling south on Interstate 95 in McIntosh County collided, resulting in one of the vehicles catching fire.
According to Georgia State Trooper Christopher Ashdown, the victims in the fiery vehicle have been identified as Reagan Dougan, a 27-year-old, along with her four children aged 9, 4, 2, and just 3 months old. Dougan was reportedly driving a rental car, traveling from Raleigh, North Carolina, with plans to meet her husband in Florida, who has subsequently been informed of the tragic accident.
While the entire family in one vehicle perished, the crash also involved another car, the passenger of which survived and was rushed to the hospital for medical attention. The grim nature of the crash has left many in the community in shock as authorities continue their investigation into the cause of the tragic accident.
