NEW YORK — Bruce Springsteen, the legendary rock musician affectionately known as “The Boss,” understands precisely what his fans desire: more music from him. In response, he has announced the upcoming release of seven new studio albums entitled “Tracks II: The Lost Albums,” which will be available on June 27.

This extensive compilation will feature a total of 83 tracks, including material written and recorded between 1983 and 2018. An astounding 74 of these songs have never been heard before. The collection will come in a box set accompanied by a 100-page hardcover book, offering fans a deeper dive into Springsteen’s work.

The news delighted fans on Thursday morning when it was unveiled on Instagram. Springsteen shared that during the COVID-19 pandemic, he took the opportunity to finish “everything I had in my vault,” referring to the unreleased music. According to Springsteen, “The Lost Albums are records that were fully completed, some even mixed but never released.”

Hints about these albums first appeared on Wednesday with a cryptic video on Springsteen’s Instagram. The teaser hinted at the forthcoming release of “The Lost Albums” and included the significant date of April 3, 2025, along with the phrase “What was lost has been found.” The post encouraged followers to visit a website, directing them to a subscription page featuring the years “1983-2018.”

“Tracks II” is a follow-up to Springsteen’s earlier collection “Tracks,” which debuted in 1998. This prior release was a 4-CD set featuring 66 previously unreleased songs. More recently, Springsteen released “Only the Strong Survive” in 2022, an album that showcased his renditions of classics by iconic groups such as the Four Tops, Temptations, and Supremes.

For this project, soul legend Sam Moore, who regularly collaborates with Springsteen, contributed vocals to two of the tracks. When discussing this endeavor, Springsteen expressed a desire to make an album where he could purely focus on singing, stating that there was no better music to explore than the great American songbook from the Sixties and Seventies.

Adding to the excitement, Springsteen and the E Street Band are preparing to hit the road for a European and U.K. tour. The tour kicks off on May 17 at Co-op Live in Manchester, England, and will conclude on July 3 at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy.
