MAPLE VALLEY, Calif. — Another alarming incident has emerged involving a former NFL player as Richard Sherman experienced a burglary at his home, becoming the latest sports figure to be victimized. Sherman, a renowned Super Bowl champion, turned to social media to share images and a video capturing the moment three armed individuals intruded into his house last weekend. He is appealing for public assistance in identifying these individuals.

In his post, Sherman, who is now an analyst for Amazon Prime Video, expressed his dismay over the incident, which occurred as he marked his 37th birthday. Reflecting on the traumatic experience, he stated, “House being robbed at gunpoint with my family in it isn’t what anyone wants for a birthday gift.” Sherman commended his wife for expertly managing the terrifying situation, ensuring their children’s safety. He further urged anyone with information on the perpetrators to come forward.

Efforts to obtain comments from the King County Sheriff’s Office regarding the case remain underway.

Instances of professional athletes falling victim to home burglaries have surged, prompting the FBI to alert sports leagues about organized crime groups targeting these individuals. Consequently, security warnings have been issued to players, particularly cautioning those who might be away during road games.

The list of affected athletes includes high-profile figures such as quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs and Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, NBA stars like Luka Doncic, Bobby Portis, Mike Conley Jr., and Pittsburgh Penguins hockey star Evgeni Malkin.

Earlier in the year, federal authorities in Florida charged seven Chilean nationals in connection with a series of burglaries targeting the residences of notable professional athletes across the nation.
