PLANICA, Slovenia — Domen Prevc thrilled local supporters by setting a new ski jump world record of 254.5 meters at the World Cup’s closing event in Planica. After achieving a record-breaking leap on Sunday, the Slovenian athlete raised his arms in triumph and briefly bowed to the jubilant crowd.

The excitement was palpable as Prevc expressed his disbelief at the remarkable achievement. “I’m still shaking right now, really amazing,” he exclaimed. “It’s like I’m in a storybook or watching a film where I’m the character pulling off this feat. I can hardly believe it’s real. Everything felt possible after I took off, and the jump was absolutely perfect.”

The previous world record of 253.5 meters was set by Austria’s Stefan Kraft in March 2017. Prevc’s record-breaking performance has now etched his name into the history books, leaving fans and fellow competitors in awe.
