CORINTH, Miss. — In a troubling development out of Mississippi, a former middle school teacher is now facing serious federal charges for allegedly using artificial intelligence to generate child sexual abuse content involving students. The case involves Wilson Jones, aged 30, who previously taught at Corinth Middle School. Although Jones tendered his resignation last fall, this action came only after disturbing videos came to light, as covered by local media sources.
A criminal complaint has brought to light that investigators have identified no fewer than eight minors from the Corinth School District as victims. Initially, school authorities were alerted to potentially inappropriate conduct in November following a computer security system detection of illegal material on Jones’ computer.
In response to these alarming findings, Corinth school officials conducted their own investigation and shared their findings with the Mississippi Department of Education by the end of January. The state department subsequently relayed the complaint to Corinth police officials late last month.
Collaborative efforts between the local police and the FBI culminated in the arrest of Jones on March 12. Following his arrest, a federal magistrate stipulated an unsecured bond of $20,000, additionally enforcing home confinement monitored by GPS.
The charges against Jones include the production of modified child sexual abuse images as well as possession of such morphed content. At this time, attempts to contact Jones’ defense attorneys for comment have not been successful.
