Cleveland State Wins 72-65 Over FGCU in CBI Semis

    DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Je’Shawn Stevenson played a crucial role in Cleveland State’s victory over FGCU, contributing 17 points to secure a 72-65 win in the CBI semifinals on Tuesday night.

    Cleveland State, holding a 22-12 record, is now set to face Illinois State in the championship game, scheduled for Wednesday. In the latest game, Stevenson showcased his skills by converting 4 of his 9 field goal attempts, including one 3-pointer out of four tries, and impressively achieved a perfect score by sinking all 8 of his free throws.

    Tahj Staveskie also delivered a strong performance, adding 16 points to the scoreboard. He made 5 of his 10 field goal attempts, remained perfect from the free-throw line with 6 out of 6, and contributed six rebounds alongside three steals, further aiding the Vikings’ journey to victory.

    On the opposing side, the Eagles, who concluded their season with a 19-14 record, were led by Jevin Muniz. Muniz scored 16 points, provided four assists, and made two steals. Michael Duax also made his presence felt on the court, adding 15 points and grabbing seven rebounds for FGCU. Tristen Guillouette contributed to the effort with 12 points, nine rebounds, and two blocks.
