Walker’s 27 points propel Illinois State to CBI final

    DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Illinois State’s Chase Walker played a pivotal role in his team’s victory against Incarnate Word in the CBI semifinals on Tuesday night, scoring an impressive 27 points to help secure a 78-73 win.

    Walker was a key force for the Redbirds, contributing significantly with eight rebounds in addition to his scoring efforts. Teammate Ty Pence also had a noteworthy performance, adding 15 points to the scoreboard. He was efficient, converting six of his eleven shot attempts while also grabbing 10 rebounds.
    Johnny Kinziger made crucial contributions with 13 points. He faced some challenges with his shooting, ending up 3 of 9 from the field, and was 1 of 5 from beyond the three-point line. However, his consistency at the free-throw line proved beneficial as he went 6 for 8.
    On the Incarnate Word side, Dylan Hayman led the Cardinals with a solid 24-point effort. Jalin Anderson was another crucial player for the Cardinals, scoring 16 points, while Davion Bailey rounded out their main contributors with 14 points.
