CHICAGO — The Chicago Blackhawks emerged victorious over the Philadelphia Flyers with a 7-4 win on Sunday, bolstered by Ryan Donato’s two-goal performance and a pivotal goal and assist from Connor Bedard.

Donato achieved his 24th and 25th goals of the season, with both goals coming from deflections in the slot during the second and third periods, eluding Flyers goaltender Ivan Fedotov to continue his record-breaking season.

Bedard’s wrist shot, delivered with just under two minutes left in the first period, marked his 20th goal of the season and equalized the score at 3-3. Earlier, Chicago’s initial 2-1 advantage had been overturned by goals from Philadelphia’s Travis Sanheim and Bobby Brink.

The Flyers also saw contributions from Jamie Drysdale and Travis Konecny, who each recorded a goal and an assist. Meanwhile, Blackhawks goaltender Spencer Knight made 24 saves, effectively halting his personal four-game losing streak.

Despite being replaced in his previous game after conceding two goals on the first three shots, Fedotov played the full match this time, managing 22 saves.

Observations revealed that the Flyers, struggling with their form, experienced their fifth consecutive defeat, marking a dismal 0-4-1 run, and have now allowed seven goals in a game for the fourth time this season, adding to their 1-9-1 record over the past 11 games. In contrast, the Blackhawks broke their seven-game losing streak, in which they had failed to score more than two goals per game.

A turning point in the match included Chicago’s goals by Tyler Bertuzzi and Donato within the initial seven minutes of the second period, which broke the 3-3 tie and set the stage for the Blackhawks to outscore the Flyers 4-1 over the final 40 minutes.

The Blackhawks’ tally of seven goals stood as their highest-scoring game of the season, having previously reached six goals on three occasions.

Looking ahead, the Flyers are set to complete their road trip with a game in Toronto on Tuesday, whereas the Blackhawks will face the New Jersey team at home on Wednesday.
