In Houston, authorities are actively searching for a duo involved in a shooting incident that occurred early Sunday morning at an after-hours nightclub, resulting in injuries to six individuals. Four of the victims are reported to be in critical condition, although there is no available update on the state of the remaining two. Assistant Chief James Skelton shared these details during a press briefing.

The event transpired around 3 a.m. at an establishment that was reportedly still serving alcohol beyond the city’s official bar closing time, according to Skelton. Law enforcement is currently examining surveillance footage and conducting interviews with witnesses to gather more insight. Skelton noted that preliminary findings from the investigation point to the fact that the individuals involved were acquainted, considering the incident to be a targeted assault that underscores the issues associated with late-night venues.

“Venues such as these, operating within our city, play a significant role in fostering criminal activities,” stated Skelton. “The Houston Police Department is focusing on these spots, with plans to shut them down, as they are environments conducive to driving under the influence, assaults, and incidents exactly like what transpired here tonight.”

Authorities are on the lookout for a black vehicle believed to be carrying the two suspects involved in the shooting, as investigations continue.
