In an emotional pregame incident, Turner’s sister, Mya, required medical assistance and was carried off the court on a stretcher. Despite the alarming scene, Turner later confirmed that his sister was doing well, declining to offer further details or answer other questions.
Team dynamics also played a crucial role, as fellow teammate Tyrese Haliburton highlighted the situation. “Obviously, you guys know he’s going through a lot right now, so to see him play that way again was really good,” Haliburton remarked. “We’ve been able to grow a great partnership on and off the floor, and playing the right way that’s when good things happen.”

The Turners usually gather in Indianapolis around this time to celebrate Myles’ birthday, which falls on Monday, with Mya being one of the most ardent supporters. Though specifics of the incident remain unknown, it was reported that Turner was able to hug his sister before she was attended to by medical personnel and transported while conscious to the opposite end for further attention.
