TEMPE, Ariz. — Grand Canyon University’s Molly Miller has been appointed as the new head coach for Arizona State’s women’s basketball team. She takes over the role from Natasha Adair, who was recently dismissed after securing a record of 29-62 over three seasons.

Miller’s tenure at GCU was marked by significant success, notably guiding the Lopes to their first-ever Western Athletic Conference championship and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament this season. The team had entered the NCAA Tournament with an impressive 30-game winning streak but faced defeat against Baylor in the opening round.

With a record of 117-38 over five years at Grand Canyon, Miller’s latest season was a standout, accomplishing a program-best with a 32-3 record. Her departure was acknowledged by GCU’s athletic director, Jamie Boggs, who expressed gratitude for Miller’s contributions, highlighting her leadership which led to the team’s inaugural conference title and NCAA Tournament berth. She extended best wishes to Miller in her new venture.

Before her tenure at GCU, Miller amassed a record of 180-17 over six seasons at Drury University, demonstrating her formidable coaching abilities during her previous role at her alma mater in Division II.
