LAKELAND, Fla. — In preparation for the upcoming season, the Detroit Tigers have made a strategic decision regarding their pitching roster. The team has sent right-handed pitcher Keider Montero to Triple-A Toledo, making room for the highly anticipated Jackson Jobe in the starting rotation.

Jobe, recognized as a top prospect in baseball, is set to complement an impressive rotation lineup including AL Cy Young Award recipient Tarik Skubal, alongside Jack Flaherty, Reese Olson, and Casey Mize. The Tigers are scheduled to kick off their season against the Los Angeles Dodgers this Thursday with this promising group.

Hailing from Oklahoma City, Jobe was the third overall pick in the 2021 amateur draft out of high school by Detroit. Since then, he has consistently impressed, evident from his solid 3.65 ERA across four spring training matches.

Having earned his major league debut during the Tigers’ playoff efforts last season, Jobe demonstrated his potential by maintaining a clean slate over four innings in two relief outings, allowing only a single hit.

Additionally, the Tigers have decided to send infielder Ryan Kreidler to Triple-A Toledo, as they fine-tune their roster ahead of the season launch.
