HOUSTON โ Markies Conway, a Dallas rapper known by his stage name Yella Beezy, has been taken into custody and charged with capital murder for the killing of fellow rapper Mo3 on a bustling interstate in 2020, as per court documents.
The indictment, delivered by a Dallas County grand jury, accuses the 33-year-old Conway of capital murder for allegedly hiring another individual, Kewon White, to carry out the murder of Melvin Noble, better known by his rap alias, Mo3. The court documents do not elaborate on the motivations that might have led Conway to allegedly commission White for the crime.
At this time, no attorney has been publicly listed to represent Conway, and attempts to reach his representatives for comments have yet to receive responses. Following Conwayโs arrest, Nichole Williams Noble, Mo3โs mother, expressed her desire for justice through a Facebook post stating, โJustice for my baby!!!!โ
The tragic incident took place on November 11, 2020, when Noble was traveling along Interstate 35 in south Dallas. Reports state that White drove alongside Nobleโs vehicle, exited his own car brandishing a gun, and began shooting at Noble, who attempted to flee on foot across the freeway. In addition to Noble, a bystander within a nearby vehicle was also struck by gunfire; however, only Noble succumbed to the injuries at the hospital.
Both White and another individual, Devin Brown, 32, have also been indicted in connection with Nobleโs death, with their cases still awaiting conclusion. White, at 26 years old, had already been sentenced to almost nine years in a separate federal case after he admitted to possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.
Yella Beezy garnered attention with his 2017 hit โThatโs On Meโ and the subsequent collaboration, โBacc At It Again,โ featuring Quavo and Gucci Mane, released in 2019. In October 2018, Conway himself was a victim of gun violence, surviving an attack where he was shot three times while on a tollway in Lewisville, a suburb of Dallas, when an assailant fired upon him from another vehicle.
Mo3, who commanded a widespread following with over 800,000 fans on Instagram, made a significant impact with a 2019 remix of โErrybody,โ alongside Baton Rouge rapper Boosie Badazz.
