POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — In a tragic incident in South Florida, an elderly man took the lives of his wife and son before turning the gun on himself in their residence, authorities reported on Thursday.
Broward County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a Pompano Beach home on Wednesday evening to check on the wellbeing of the inhabitants. The house is located approximately 8.4 miles north of Fort Lauderdale. Despite several attempts to communicate with anyone inside, deputies were met with silence.
With no response from inside, the deputies called upon the services of a Pompano Beach Fire Rescue team to gain entry into the home, as explained by Gerdy St. Louis, a spokesperson for the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
Upon entering, they discovered the tragic scene, where three individuals were declared deceased. Subsequently, the sheriff’s homicide and crime scene units initiated a thorough investigation into the incident.
Details regarding the ages of the man’s wife and son remain undisclosed as officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the case.
