In MOUNT COBB, Pennsylvania, a charter bus carrying bagpipers from a recent St. Patrick’s Day parade was involved in a collision and sent several individuals to the hospital. The bus was en route after the celebratory event when it struck a stationary tractor-trailer shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. Thankfully, the trailer was vacant at the time, as confirmed by Mike Shaffer, Chief of the Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Department.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, all seventeen individuals on the bus sustained minor injuries due to the accident. Trooper First Class Robert Urban stated that weather conditions did not contribute to the incident, and a full investigation is underway.

This unfortunate occurrence involved the Greater Scranton Black Diamonds Pipe Band, as shared by the band’s business manager, Bill Hetherson. The group had been returning from a parade in Milford when their journey was unexpectedly interrupted. Hetherson expressed confidence that all those affected would fully recover.

As a result of the crash, the band had to retract their planned St. Patrick’s Day group events scheduled for Monday. However, Hetherson mentioned there is potential for some members to participate in solo performances despite the disruption. The band remains in high spirits, focusing on the health and well-being of all involved.
