PORTLAND, Ore. — The Portland Trail Blazers managed to end their five-game losing streak with a thrilling comeback victory against the Toronto Raptors, winning 105-102. Key in this turnaround was Anfernee Simons, who delivered a stellar fourth-quarter performance, scoring 12 out of his 22 total points.

In an impressive show of range, Portland sunk 18 shots from beyond the arc, with Simons contributing six of those successful three-pointers. Notably, four of these were achieved in the final quarter, while Toumani Camara also added five threes, equalling his career high as he concluded the game with 21 points.

Deni Avdija also made his presence felt, contributing 19 points alongside six rebounds and six assists. His performance was capped off with two crucial free throws in the closing seconds. Shaedon Sharpe provided additional support, adding 17 points to Portland’s cause.

The Toronto Raptors put up a strong fight, led by Jakob Poeltl and Ochai Agbaji, both scoring 19 points. Scottie Barnes also shined with 16 points, six rebounds, six assists, and led defensively with six steals, including an impressive long-range lob pass leading to an alley-oop for Agbaji.

A pivotal moment arose when Matisse Thybulle, returning from an ankle injury that had sidelined him for much of the season, blocked a critical 3-pointer attempt by Toronto’s Orlando Robinson. This shut down any last-second resolution the Raptors sought to claim.

As the game wound down, Avdija’s drive and successful free throw crowned a significant 13-0 run, securing a foothold for the Trail Blazers, which they held onto until the end with a 99-95 lead.

Moreover, both teams secured 19 rebounds each. However, Portland excelled in converting second-chance opportunities, outscoring the Raptors 25-18 in this category.

The upcoming schedule sees the Toronto Raptors venturing to Phoenix to challenge the Suns, while the Portland Trail Blazers will play at home against the Washington Wizards on Monday.
