In a match held at Audi Field on Saturday night, CF Montreal and D.C. United ended in a goalless draw. Jonathan Sirois delivered an outstanding performance for CF Montreal by making seven crucial saves. His robust display was instrumental in Montreal securing its first point of the season. Sirois, who had already made a league-high 15 saves in three consecutive losses on the road, achieved his 20th career shutout in his third full season with Montreal.

On the other side, 21-year-old rookie Kim Joon Hong of D.C. United earned his first clean sheet in his fourth start for the team. While Hong faced no significant challenges in the first half, Sirois was formidable with four saves, ensuring D.C. United couldn’t find the back of the net.

During the match, D.C. United saw a potential advantage slip away when Christian Benteke’s goal was disallowed for a handball foul in the 30th minute. Benteke, who posed a substantial offensive threat with 23 goals claiming the Golden Boot last season, had already been on target in each of his first three games this season.

The encounter left the overall series deadlocked at 10 wins, 10 losses, and 10 draws for both teams. Montreal continues to struggle offensively as they have not managed to score since their opening season game, a narrow 3-2 defeat against Atlanta United.

Looking ahead, D.C. United is set to travel to face Orlando City in their next match on Saturday. Meanwhile, CF Montreal, beginning their season with seven consecutive away matches, will visit Nashville SC on Saturday as well.
