NEW YORK — The Brooklyn Nets have announced that Cam Thomas, their top scorer, appears to be sidelined for the remainder of the season due to a strained left hamstring.
Thomas sustained the injury during the Nets’ recent loss to the Chicago Bulls on Thursday. In that game, he achieved his first career double-double, recording 24 points alongside a career-high 10 assists. The team assessed his condition and conveyed that the limited time left in this season might not permit a thorough recovery.
The regular NBA season for the Nets concludes on April 13, leaving less than a month for Thomas to recuperate.
During this season, Thomas managed an average of 24 points per game and achieved six games with over 30 points. However, his impact was curtailed as he was only able to participate in 25 games, having missed 37 due to the initial hamstring injury he sustained in November.
At the end of this season, Thomas will have the opportunity to enter free agency.
