FORT WORTH, Texas — In a significant win at the American Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinals on Friday, Tulane triumphed over Florida Atlantic with a final score of 83-76. Asher Woods was a standout player for Tulane, scoring 20 points. His excellent performance included making 6 of 10 shots from the field, sinking 2 out of 3 shots from beyond the three-point arc, and hitting 6 of 8 free throws.
Kaleb Banks also greatly contributed to the Green Wave’s victory, adding 17 points while achieving 7 of 11 in field-goal attempts, including 3 of 4 successful three-pointers, despite missing all three of his free throw attempts. Banks also helped his team by securing five rebounds. Meanwhile, Gregg Glenn III finished the game with 17 points by successfully scoring 4 of 11 from the field and converting an impressive 9 of 10 free throw attempts.
On the opposing side, Matas Vokietaitis put up a strong fight for Florida Atlantic, scoring 21 points and collecting 12 rebounds. Devin Vanterpool supported his team by contributing 12 points to the Owls’ score.
The momentum shifted significantly in Tulane’s favor after a 12-0 run that concluded the first half, gifting them a five-point lead. Banks was particularly effective in the first half, leading his team with 14 points, while Glenn contributed significantly in the second half with another 15 points.
