DENVER — Authorities have apprehended a second suspect in connection with using an incendiary device amid a series of vandalism incidents at a Tesla dealership in Colorado. The most recent arrest occurred on Thursday and involves a 29-year-old who faces charges including second-degree arson and criminal mischief at the Loveland Tesla dealership. The offending act took place on March 7 and involved both vehicle and property damage caused by rocks, according to a police statement. However, officials have not disclosed any potential motives behind these actions.
In addition to this arrest, another individual faces charges in both federal and state courts for allegedly deploying Molotov cocktails at the same location previously this year. Tesla has encountered various acts of vandalism and protest demonstrations across the United States, and these events have coincided with CEO Elon Musk’s rising profile as a controversial figure affiliated with the Trump administration.
In a separate incident, gunfire was reported at a Tesla dealership in Oregon, marking the second occurrence within a week. Furthermore, a recent fire in Seattle led to the destruction of four Tesla Cybertrucks, although investigators have not confirmed whether the fire was an act of arson.
