Clark’s 17 Points Propel VCU to Victory in A10 Tournament

    WASHINGTON — In a commanding performance during the Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament quarterfinals on Friday, VCU secured a 76-59 victory over St. Bonaventure.

    Jack Clark played a pivotal role for the Rams with 17 points and six rebounds, helping his team achieve a notable victory. The Rams, now boasting a 26-6 record, showcased their depth with Zeb Jackson contributing 14 points, thanks to an efficient game at the free-throw line, where he was a perfect 4 for 4.

    Joe Bamisile added further support with 13 points, managing six successful shots out of 16 from the field. Although his 3-point shooting was less effective, hitting only 1 of 5 attempts, his overall contribution remained impactful.

    For the St. Bonaventure Bonnies, who now have a record of 22-11, Melvin Council Jr. and Chance Moore both stood out with 19 points each. Additionally, Lajae Jones made a significant impact with a double-double, recording 10 points and 10 rebounds.

    The game saw VCU take charge right from the 15:19 mark of the first half, never losing their grip on the lead. Clark’s initial eight points were crucial in establishing a 36-26 halftime advantage for the Rams. As the second half unfolded, VCU further asserted their dominance with a decisive 9-0 run, transforming a six-point edge into a commanding 15-point lead. Jackson’s 10 points in the second half were instrumental in maintaining the Rams’ momentum.
