MILWAUKEE — LeBron James has returned to California to receive treatment for a strain in his left groin, leading to him sitting out the remainder of the Los Angeles Lakers’ current four-game road trip, which is set to finish on Friday in Denver.
James was unable to participate in his second consecutive game on Thursday as the Lakers faced off against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Before the tip-off, Lakers head coach JJ Redick provided an update explaining that Rui Hachimura, dealing with left patellar tendinopathy, and Jaxson Hayes, with a right knee bruise, had also traveled back to California. Redick noted that these players would be evaluated on a day-to-day basis once the team reconvenes in California for a five-game home stretch beginning Sunday against the Phoenix Suns.
“Honestly, they’ll benefit more from staying off the road and focusing on rehabilitation in Los Angeles,” Redick mentioned.
James, who is now 40 years old, has been delivering impressive averages of 25 points, 8.5 assists, and 8.2 rebounds so far this season.
The team will be eager to have all their players back in action as they look forward to their upcoming home games.
