WASHINGTON — A setback has struck the Washington Wizards with the potential absence of guard Bilal Coulibaly for the rest of the NBA season. The young player sustained a right hamstring injury during a recent game against the Toronto Raptors.
The team updated on Thursday that Coulibaly might be sidelined for approximately 4-6 weeks, with plans to manage the injury cautiously. Notably, the conclusion of Washington’s season is just over four weeks away, which poses a challenge to his potential return.
Hailing from France, the 20-year-old athlete was the seventh overall selection in the 2023 draft. In his sophomore campaign with the Wizards, Coulibaly has delivered an average performance of 12.3 points along with 3.4 assists per game. Unfortunately for the team, their record stands at 13-51, placing them at the bottom of the league standings.
