ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — In a thrilling finish, Tariq Ingraham delivered a decisive layup with just one second remaining on the clock, securing Rider’s 78-76 victory over Siena in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament held on Tuesday. This triumph advances the eighth-seeded Broncs to face the top-seeded Quinnipiac on Wednesday. This marks the fourth consecutive victory for Rider following a previous three-game losing streak.
Ingraham was instrumental for the Broncs (14-18), amassing a total of 19 points and pulling down 13 rebounds. Aasim Burton contributed significantly by scoring 17 points, hitting eight of his 16 shots (including 1 for 3 from long distance). Zion Cruz also played a key role, netting 14 points on 6-for-15 shooting, with two successful attempts from beyond the arc.
On the opposing side, the No. 9-seed Siena Saints (14-18) were driven by Justice Shoats, who notched 19 points and provided nine assists. Gavin Doty was another top performer for Siena, adding 16 points, while Brendan Coyle contributed 13 points to their effort.
Despite Aasim Burton’s 13 first-half points, Rider entered halftime trailing by a narrow 38-36 margin. However, in the latter half, Zion Cruz’s 12 points helped shift the momentum in favor of Rider, enabling them to outscore Siena by four and ultimately clinch the win.
