The Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) has announced an exciting expansion for its upcoming season, with games set to take place in ten cities from June 7 to July 23. This marks a significant shift for the league as it introduces a traditional team-based format for the first time. Previously, the focus had been on individual championships held twice annually.
In the revamped AUSL structure, four teams—Bandits, Blaze, Talons, and Volts—will each compete in 24 games. The league shared these plans in a recent news release. Kicking off the season on June 7, the Bandits will face the Talons in a three-game series in Rosemont, Illinois, concurrent with the Blaze and Volts battling it out in Wichita, Kansas.
Overall, the schedule includes 11 regular-season games in both Wichita and Rosemont. Salt Lake City and Round Rock, Texas, will host four games each, while Sulphur, Louisiana; Chattanooga, Tennessee; and Omaha, Nebraska, will see three games apiece. Meanwhile, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, is set for two games, with additional locations yet to be finalized.
The season will culminate in the AUSL Championship, where the top two teams compete in a best-of-three series from July 26-28 in Tuscaloosa. Plans are in place for the league to transition fully to a city-based format by 2026.
Following the championship games, 60 standout players will participate in the AUSL All-Star Cup—a 24-game series designed to crown an individual champion. Most of these matches, 18 in total, will take place in Rosemont, with the remaining four scheduled in Raleigh, North Carolina. Additionally, Greenville, North Carolina, will host two games during the Little League Softball World Series.
