GLENDALE, Ariz. — Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Michael Grove is set to miss the entire upcoming season following surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder. Grove, 28, has been a part of the Dodgers’ roster for the past three seasons. Last year, he recorded a 4-4 win-loss record and maintained a 5.02 ERA over 39 appearances, two of which were starts. Throughout his 51 innings pitched, Grove achieved 54 strikeouts.

During a recent update, Manager Dave Roberts explained that Grove had been struggling with shoulder pain since the previous season. “He’s disappointed,” Roberts noted. “Having already undergone Tommy John surgery earlier, he was reluctant to face another surgical procedure. He attempted to endure and continue pitching despite the discomfort, but it negatively impacted both his performance and recovery process.”

Grove’s journey with the Dodgers began when he was selected in the second round of the 2018 draft after showcasing his talent at West Virginia during his college career.
