TORONTO – On an exciting Sunday in the PWHL, the Minnesota Frost secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over the Toronto Sceptres, thanks to a thrilling overtime goal by team captain Kendall Coyne Schofield. At 2:39 into the added time, Coyne Schofield managed to find the puck amid a goalmouth scramble and expertly chipped it beyond the reach of the goalie Kristen Campbell before she could secure it.

The Frost initially took the lead in the match with Brooke McQuigge scoring during the first period. However, Toronto’s defender, Renata Fast, tied the game late in the second period, setting up the encounter for a nail-biting finish. On Minnesota’s defensive front, Nicole Hensley showed her prowess by making 15 vital saves to help seal their victory.

For the Minnesota Frost, one of the standout players, Mae Batherson, will have the honor of participating in a notable event celebrating women’s contributions to sports at the Ottawa Senators’ Canadian Tire Centre. She plans to support her brother Drake as he and the Senators take on the Detroit Red Wings.

Toronto’s standout defender, Renata Fast, continues to perform brilliantly leading all defenders in the PWHL with an impressive record of five goals and 15 points amassed over 23 games.

One of the pivotal moments of the game occurred when Denisa Krizova, on a fast 2-on-1 rush, slammed a shot against the crossbar, narrowly missing what would have been a leveling goal in the second period.

Looking ahead, the Frost are set to face off with Ottawa on Tuesday night. Meanwhile, the Toronto Sceptres will prepare to welcome New York to their home ground on March 19 for an anticipated matchup.
