Tandy Leads FAU to 81-53 Win Over East Carolina

    BOCA RATON, Fla. — On Sunday, Florida Atlantic University secured a decisive victory over East Carolina, ending their regular season with a tie for fifth place in the American Athletic Conference (AAC). The Owls triumphed with an 81-53 win, prominently aided by KyKy Tandy’s impressive performance of 19 points.

    Tandy delivered a solid game, shooting 6-for-13 from the field and 5-for-11 from three-point range. His efforts were complemented by Tre Carroll, who contributed 17 points while maintaining a 5-for-8 shooting record from the field and a perfect 7-for-7 from the free-throw line. Carroll also added 11 rebounds and three blocks to his name. Another notable performance came from Baba, who made six of his ten attempts, ending the game with 14 points, along with 12 rebounds and five assists.

    On the opposing side, the East Carolina Pirates were driven by Joran Riley’s 18 points and three steals. Additionally, RJ Felton recorded 11 points and managed six rebounds during the encounter. C.J. Walker added support with eight points.

    As the AAC tournament approaches, the opening games are set to commence in Denton, Texas, on Wednesday. The competition begins with Rice facing off against Charlotte, who occupy the bottom two seed positions. The tournament will then proceed to Fort Worth on Thursday. Teams that acquired one of the top four seeds hold an advantageous position, receiving a bye directly to the quarterfinals on Friday.
