ST. GEORGE, Utah — In an impressive display, Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe led Seattle to victory over Utah Tech with a standout performance, contributing 26 points in a 70-65 triumph on Saturday.
Moncrieffe also secured eight rebounds, playing a crucial role for the Redhawks, who now hold a 13-17 record overall and 8-8 in the Western Athletic Conference. Joining him in strong performances, Paris Dawson added 19 points to the win, shooting 4 of 10 from the field, including 2 of 4 from beyond the arc, and remaining flawless from the free-throw line with 9 out of 9. Brayden Maldonado further chipped in with 12 points, shooting 4 of 9 overall, including 3 of 6 from three-point land, while also registering three steals in a well-rounded effort.
On the opposing side, Samuel Ariyibi was a standout for the Trailblazers, contributing 20 points along with nine rebounds and showcasing defensive prowess with two steals and four blocks. Justin Bieker supported with 12 points for Utah Tech, and Hakim Byrd contributed nine points alongside two steals. Unfortunately for the Trailblazers, this defeat marked their 14th consecutive loss, as they continue to struggle, holding a 6-25 overall standing and 2-14 in conference play.
