Matt Allocco sealed the win with a decisive 3-pointer in that overtime period.
Notre Dame, once teetering on the edge of missing the ACC tournament, now has the potential to secure a spot as high as eighth place, contingent on future game outcomes. Meanwhile, California might find itself in a tie for the 14th position.
Burton, whose previous record was 32 points, fouled out with just 2:40 remaining in the final overtime. Stepping up in the clutch moment, Allocco netted eight critical points, including a pivotal 3-pointer that gave Notre Dame a 109-108 advantage with only 15 seconds left.
