NORTH PORT, Fla. — During the spring training game on Saturday, Atlanta Braves outfielder Jurickson Profar exited the field with a jammed left wrist.

The injury reportedly occurred in the fourth inning when Profar was attempting a diving catch. As he landed awkwardly while chasing down a sinking liner off the bat of Pittsburgh’s Jack Suwinski, he seemed to injure his wrist.

Initial X-rays showed no fractures, but the Braves have announced that Profar will undergo an additional evaluation to determine the extent of the injury.

The 32-year-old player joined the Braves in January after securing a three-year contract worth $42 million. Profar, a switch hitter, is coming off an impressive season with the San Diego Padres, where he achieved a .280 batting average, hit 24 home runs, and recorded 85 RBIs.
