PROVO, Utah — The Brigham Young University (BYU) women’s basketball team is undergoing a leadership change as head coach Amber Whiting has departed after three seasons at the helm. The announcement was made by the university on Saturday.
During her tenure, Whiting led the Cougars to a record of 45-51. The team participated in the WBIT last season but struggled this year, finishing with a 13-17 record. This transition marks BYU as the third team within the Big 12 Conference to experience a coaching change over the last several days, alongside Houston and Arizona State.
In the interim, Lee Cummard, who has been serving as the associate head coach, will step in as the head coach for the Cougars.
